Occupational therapy has always been a part of my life starting with the experience of involving myself in my mother’s practice. Ever since I can remember, assisting my mother, who is also an occupational therapist, has been both fulfilling and intriguing. It wasn’t until I was older that I really began to research what occupational therapy is all about. It was amazing to find the open-ended opportunities that occupational therapy provided. After researching the profession, I found that this field is truly my calling. Helping people of all ages reach personal goals and become more independent and successful in their daily lives is something that is part of who I am. Whether it’s talking to an older individual who has wonderful stories of days past to share or working with a child whose face lights up with a huge smile when they’ve overcome something, it is all rewarding and something I’d never give up.
What I enjoy most about working at Reavis Rehab is the variety of patient care and the experience gained from that opportunity. Reavis was introduced to me about 15 years ago when my mother was the occupational therapist. I have had the unique chance to compare the clinic to what it was to what it is today through both my and my mother’s eyes and the feelings of amazement at how much the clinic and company has grown over the years. In addition, I love working with the patients one-on-one and being able to form that bond which assists in helping them achieve personal and functional goals.
When not working, I enjoy acting in community theaters and playing soccer. I belong to the sorority, Alpha Delta Pi, and plan to become involved in the alumni chapter. I am a past member of both the Texas Occupational Therapy Association (TOTA) and American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) organizations and would like to reinstate my membership with both.
Thank you for the opportunity to share our knowledge and abilities in order to make a difference in your lives!
