Allison knew just then what it would take
To get all people to communicate.

She headed off to Stephen F. Austin.
Not in Dallas, not in Boston.

Got her Bachelor's in Communication.
Came to work @ Reavis Rehabilitation.

She loves adults & loves the babies
Also animals, but not ones with rabies.

She plays piano & sings real loud.
And taking sun & watching the clouds!

Therapist Spotlight

Nikki Hawken, PTA

I grew up in San Antonio and moved to Austin in 1991. I attended massage therapy school in 1996 and received many certifications during my time as a massage therapist. In 2003 I decided to further my education and went back to school to become a Physical Therapist Assistant.

My specialties continue to lie with my massage techniques such as Myofascial Release and Craniosacral Therapy. I am also skilled with vaious aquatic therapies and have found a great way to combine water and massage to produce amazing outcomes in therapy with Bad Ragaz and Watsu. I also love to work with children and am constantly challenged by their need for diverse activities to keep their interest elevated. I am truly blessed to have Donna B. Sowell who has over 30 years experience with children as a supervising Physical Therapist and mentor to teach me all she knows.

My favorite thing about being a PTA is the many different people and children I get to interact with. I enjoy the challenges that each patient brings and feel great when I can provide our patients with education and the tools they need to return to their prior level of function.

I feel very honored to have the privilege of working with such an experienced and knowledgeable team. We work so well together and are always able to collaborate and come up with alternative solutions to any question or problem.

I love Reavis Rehab because of the family- like environment it provides and I feel like everyone here is my family too. That is an important attribute I look for in a work place.
