Physical Therapy - Bringing Motion to Life
“If it is physical, it's therapy,” and that is why we are celebrating National Physical Therapy Month! It’s a time to commend our physical therapists and physical therapist assistants for their outstanding work. But it is also an opportunity to educate others on the PT profession.
So what is Physical Therapy?
Physical Therapy is a health care profession which provides services to individuals in order to develop, maintain and restore maximum movement and functional ability throughout life. This includes providing services in circumstances where movement and function are threatened by aging, injury, disease or environmental factors.
Physical therapy is concerned with identifying and maximizing quality of life and movement potential within the spheres of prevention, treatment/intervention, habilitation and rehabilitation. This encompasses physical, psychological, emotional, and social well being. It involves the interaction between physical therapist (PT) and patients/clients.

Our Physical Therapists at Reavis Rehab & Wellness Center play an important role in developing fitness plans for both adults and children that promote the ability to move, reduce pain, restore function, and prevent disability. Every day we see new examples of how our physical therapy helps people achieve a greater level of function and higher quality of life. That has a profound effect on our staff. As PT Donna Brath-Sowell says, “We make our patients part of our family.”
So, happy National Physical Therapy Month to all our current and future physical therapists and physical therapy assistants. Take a moment to check out some of our PT's and PTA's biographies and information. We take pride in our fantastic physical therapy staff!
