Therapist Spotlight

Jacob Garza, PT, DPT

I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in 2007. I continued on to Texas State University – San Marcos and completed a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2011. I have been a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and Texas Physical Therapy Association since 2008 and have attended several national and state meetings and conferences.

I have a natural tendency for physical activity and was active in sports throughout high school. I played football for 2 years at UMHB then turned my focus on long-term goals. I gravitated toward a career in physical therapy because it would allow me to continue to be active in my everyday job, and help others get back to doing the things they are passionate about.

I was fortunate enough to have my last clinical rotation in PT school at Reavis Rehab. The environment is incomparable. The one-on-one interaction between patient and provider allow for a completely focused and individualized treatment for each patient. I was hired on and became a part of the Reavis staff, and I am working at a facility where I would want to be a patient. The personal relationships built at Reavis last beyond the treatment of an injury or illness, and I am ready to begin building more each day.
